Stars in the Sky and Sand

This evening's lesson was Astronomy. Some groups created and named their own constellations, some created a packing list for space travel, while others mapped out the distance of the planets which led us to the beach. They observed constellations from the beach and then scratched or dug in the sand to see "stars" in the sand...actually dinoflagellates(microorgnaisms or marine plankton). It has been a busy active day. The lights went out at 9pm and the boys on the third floor were sound asleep at 9:12!

    It's quiet in the 5th grade wing - but you look like everyone is having a grand time. The weather looks beautiful, and the food looks delicious, and the kids look so engaged! Continue having fun and learning, too.~Ms. Nichols
